iPhone 4 Unlock to Follow After Verizon iPhone Launch?

It’s been quite the last few days and people are still asking about iPhone 4 unlock on higher basebands. Look what we have found while perusing MuscleNerd’s Twitter account, the iPhone Dev Team may be waiting for Verizon iPhone’s launch next Tuesday to push their unlock to iOS users.

hishamm126: @MuscleNerd Can we conclude that the i4 unlock is ready but it’s just waiting for the untethered JB?

MuscleNerd: @hishamm126 the Verizon rumor mill is much more relevant :)
This tweet was sent by MuscleNerd in a reply to someone asking him if he’s waiting for the untethered jailbreak to be released. iPhone hacker MuscleNerd answered him saying that the time of release is more relevant to the Verizon iPhone rumors leaked yesterday.

Don't raise your hopes up, but share us what do you think of MuscleNerd's tweet? Feel free to leave comments below.

WSJ Confirms Verizon iPhone on January 11

Yesterday, we knew that Verizon wireless is holding a special event next Tuesday January 11st, 2011. The Wall Street Journal has confirmed that this event is going to be for the long-awaited Verizon iPhone 4.

The largest U.S. wireless carrier will make the long-awaited announcement at an event Tuesday in New York City, a person familiar with the matter said Friday.
All Things Digital reports that Steve Jobs will join onstage with Verizon Wireless’ President & COO Lowell McAdam to announce Verizon iPhone 4:
While the appearance isn’t 100 percent assured, sources in a position to know tell me that, barring any unforeseen circumstances, Jobs will likely join McAdam onstage in New York when he announces the addition of the iPhone to its handset lineup.

Apple to Announce iPad 2 Within 3 or 4 Weeks?

Digg founder Kevin Rose today has received information from a reliable source claiming that Apple is going to announce the much waited iPad 2 within the next 3-4 weeks, possibly on February 1st, 2011. What's more interesting in the post, he says that another source told him that it will not feature Retina Display but instead is higher resolution screen with more dots per inch (DPI) in addition to dual cameras.

iPad 2 Mockup spotted at CES 2011
I have it on good authority that Apple will be announcing the iPad 2 in the next “3-4 weeks”, possibly Tuesday February 1st. The iPad 2 will feature a retina display and front/back cameras.
We already saw iPad 2 case shown up in CES 2011, some leaks and videos. So, we may see Verizon iPhone next Tuesday followed by iPad 2 on February 1st? Let's wait !

Apple Removes VLC Media Player from the App Store

Two months ago, we told you that there were a licensing issue between the creators of the open-source VLC platform and creators of the VLC iOS application. Now Apple has removed the application from their App Store. One of the developers of VLC for iOS has announced that on their blog:

At last, Apple has removed VLC media player from its application store. Thus the incompatibility between the GNU General Public License and the AppStore terms of use is resolved - the hard way. I am not going to pity the owners of iDevices, and not even the MobileVLC developers who doubtless wasted a lot of their time. This end should not have come to a surprise to anyone.
