iPad supplies!!
A number of resellers have been notified that iPad supplies are currently constrained and that they don't know when it will be available!
What's the cause of the switch? Well our sources weren't crystal clear on the exact reasons, but the gist of what was explained to us centered around vague "engineering issues" which may have forced some changes at the eleventh hour. It's worth noting once again that these sources have been dead right on specific Apple plans and specifications for unannounced products in the past, and we have no reason to believe these changes are due to anything more than legitimate engineering decisions made close to launch.According to the floating rumors, it's expected to see a thinner iPad, 512MB RAM, more powerful CPU with A5 processor, front camera and more. In the same event, it's rumored to see a preview for iOS 5 for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, and releasing for iOS 4.3 GM (Gold Master).

We all knew the rumors of a 2048x1536 high resoultion screen of the iPad which floated on the web the last few days, now, it makes sense to ask a question, what graphics processing unit (GPU) can adequately power iPad 2?, according to AppleInsider sources that iPad 2 and iPhone 5 will use a dual-core SGX543 GPU from "Imagination Technologies"[via MacRumors]
In other words, the SGX543 can have any number of cores from two to sixteen with no change in the driver software or the application. All that complex data/pipeline/thread management is done in hardware. No muss, no fuss.
These screenshots are 1024 x 768 which indicate the same screen resolution as the current iPad. That might upset those hoping for more a retina-ish display in iPad 2. This may only be because the current simulator only simulates 1024 x 768 so those hoping for more pixels shouldn’t lose hope.Check the screenshots below and tell us what do you think in the comment section below:
You will notice the same shutter screen as found on the iPhone and iPod touch in addition to camera roll icons for videos and pictures. We opened up the camera shutter images and the size is 1024 x 768, which is the same resolution as the current iPad.
We have exclusively been told that the reason Apple just added multitouch gestures for the iPad in the latest iOS 4.3 beta is because the iPad will be losing the home button. Yes, we are told that Apple, at some point in time, will remove the home button from the iPad’s design. Instead of button taps, you will use new multitouch gestures to navigate to the home screen and also to launch the app switcher.
That’s not all, however. In addition to the home button disappearing from the iPad, we’re told that this change will make its way over to the iPhone as well. Our source said Apple employees are already testing iPads and iPhones with no home buttons on the Apple campus, and it’s possible we will see this new change materialize with the next-generation iPad and iPhone devices set to launch this year.
Additionally, we’re told Apple’s popular photo-taking application, Photo Booth, will be appearing on the next iPad. It’s also very possible that we’ll see iLife apps for iOS unveiled around the iPad 2 release as well.
It has been said that Steve Jobs didn’t want any physical buttons on the original iPhone at first, and it looks like he may soon get his wish.
I have it on good authority that Apple will be announcing the iPad 2 in the next “3-4 weeks”, possibly Tuesday February 1st. The iPad 2 will feature a retina display and front/back cameras. We already saw iPad 2 case shown up in CES 2011, some leaks and videos. So, we may see Verizon iPhone next Tuesday followed by iPad 2 on February 1st? Let's wait !
The sources pointed out that the iPad 2 will ship as soon as the end of February in 2011. Apple originally planned to start mass production in January, but because the device’s firmware is currently still in testing, Apple has been postponing the schedule. Since Foxconn’s new plants in Chengdu are still in pilot production, iPad 2 will be mainly supplied by its Shenzhen plants, while the company’s upstream component partners have all been notified of the shipments schedule. The 2nd generation iPad is also rumored to carry Facetime camera and be smaller in size (mini-iPad). Anyway, will you buy an iPad 2 next year? let us know in the comments section below.
