The BBC (British Broadcasting Company) is holding an event on Wednesday March 2nd at 6pm GMT, which is at the same time of the Apple iPad 2 launch event! Are they linked!
It could be a coincidence, but BBC event will host an Apple fan, Stephen Fry. Fry was one of the first people to get their hands on the original iPad last year, so it all makes sense!
Moreover, an engineer working on the project for the BBC tweeted the BBC app Will take advantage of the higher-res screen that the iPad 2 has got. HD content will look good.

According to sources close to
Engadget, Apple is going to show off an early preview version of iOS 5 at the iPad 2 media event, which is going to be held on Wednesday, March 2nd, at the famous Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.

It’s also almost guaranteed that we’ll see the next version of iOS (number 5 in all likelihood, along with its SDK for devs), and an expansion of Apple’s cloud services (that part is a little… foggy right now). Of course, that will perfectly set up Apple’s announcement of the iPhone 5 in June, which is when iPad owners can likely expect to be using the new software. Regardless, we’ll have the goods come next week, so stay tuned!
While there has been no word on new features in iOS 5 yet, a revamped notification system is said to be in works, and will be introduced with iOS 5.
Apple is expected to release iOS 5 with the next-gen iPhone 5 in summer this year.
According to Engaget, an "engineering issues" have led Apple to make last-minute design changes to iPad 2, these changes will cause to launch iPad 2 which scheduled to see the light by March 2nd without a Retina Display :(What's the cause of the switch? Well our sources weren't crystal clear on the exact reasons, but the gist of what was explained to us centered around vague "engineering issues" which may have forced some changes at the eleventh hour. It's worth noting once again that these sources have been dead right on specific Apple plans and specifications for unannounced products in the past, and we have no reason to believe these changes are due to anything more than legitimate engineering decisions made close to launch.
According to the floating rumors, it's expected to see a thinner iPad, 512MB RAM, more powerful CPU with A5 processor, front camera and more. In the same event, it's rumored to see a preview for iOS 5 for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, and releasing for iOS 4.3 GM (Gold Master).

One of our Apple sources has just informed us that it looks like Apple has finalized the code for its upcoming iOS 4.3 release. The build, we're told, is 8F190 for those keeping track.
reported BGR.
iOs 4.3 may make its public debut within the coming week, most probably at the event scheduled next Wednesday. The updated version will have new features as personal Wi-Fi hotspot, enhanced support for AirPlay video streaming and a software toggle to set the functionality of the iPad's side switch.
The Yerba Buena Center is now being decorated for the event scheduled on March 2nd at 10 a.m!

Employees of Chinese carrier China Telecom have successfully jailbroken and unblocked the CDMA iPhone 4, letting the device work on the company's network!
Employees of the Guangdong branch of China Telecom teased users this week with a post on its microblog saying they were working on a way to crack Verizon Wireless' CDMA iPhone, suggesting users might be able to use the device on China Telecom's network.
A post signed the "Apple Lab Team" on the Sina Weibo account identified as belonging to the Guangdong branch of China Telecom said Tuesday the "CDMA iPhone 4 has made its first call in China" without a hitch.Preceding posts included a photo of a Verizon Wireless iPhone beside a tag labeled China Telecom Guangdong, then a photo of the device displaying the home screen for Cydia, a software application that allows users to find the applications and software packages for jailbroken Apple devices.Reported the Wall Street Journal.
China Telecom had talks with Apple to offer the CDMA iPhone 4 and a new report, where Brian White says there will be a deal coming sometime this year. The key takeaway is that the relationship between Apple and China Telecom is clearly moving in the right direction, and we believe that a deal will eventually be announced this year.
China Telecom has now 90.5 million subscribers, which is slightly behind Verizon and AT&T in terms of total subscriber base.
Apple engineers are still working on the new iPhone and it is likely to be similar in size to the current iPhone.
According to the NYTimes, Apple is working on cheaper iPhone as well as integrating voice commands but the company is not planning to launch a smaller iPhone.
But contrary to published reports, Apple is not currently developing a smaller iPhone, according to people briefed on Apple's plans who requested anonymity because the plans are confidential.
The smaller screens would require a different coding of Apps to accommodate the new form which is an issue which Apple tries to avoid.Apple executives are as well planning on dropping the price of the previous model when the new model is released, which may mean that the iPhone 4 will take the place of the $49 iPhone 3Gs.

More evidence to suggest iPhone 5 will use multi-core processor ! Couple of days ago, we've been tipped off from one of our readers about an update of Geekbench 2 app which brings support for multi-core processors. This app runs performance tests on processor and memory. In case you don't know, all iOS devices use single-core processors so that suggests that the upcoming iPhone 5 and iPad 2 may get multi-core processor. As the tipster notes, they may have got an iPhone 5 tester.
This adds
more evidence to a previous report from DigiTimes that states that the change is high for Apple to adopt a dual core processor for the next iteration of the iPhone.

Digitimes is reporting that the newly coming iPhone will have a four inch screen to better compete with Google Android.
This picture shows the Samsung Galaxy(4 inch) at the left and the iPhone 4 (3.5 inch) at the right.
The component suppliers noted that the production lines for Apple's next generation iPhone have begun testing, and Apple interesting in expanding the screen size to 4inches to support the tablet PC market as the vendor has a 9.7inch iPad in the market.
This news could be right, though there are many
talks about the
smaller iPhone. In addition, the iPhone always had a 3.5inch screen while many Android phones had larger screens.
A Taiwanese site reports that Apple was testing three prototypes for the iPhone 5, one with a sliding keyboard!
Other prototypes are similar to the iPhone 4 with a bit of differences, as an upgraded battery and an 8MP camera. The report likens those prototypes to the transition from iPhone 3G to iPhone 3Gs with the same basic design augmented primarily by improvements in the device's internals.
As for the sliding keyboard, it doesn't seem consistent with Apple's devotion to multi-touch functionality with virtual keyboards. We may just keep the suggestions aside but
Apple.pro has a good track record providing leaked information from Apple's products.
This site recently posted an Apple-branded touchscreen which appeared few months later in the company's latest iPod nano.
The site also notes that these are prototypes, suggesting that the sliding keyboard model could just be a design put together by Apple for the purposes of testing and may never be intended for public release.

Wall Street Journal has added new details about the new iPhone! The person who saw the prototype of the new iPhone said the device was significantly lighter than the iPhone 4 and had an edge-to-edge screen that could be manipulated by touch, as well as a virtual keyboard and voice-based navigation. The person said Apple, based in Cupertino, Calif., also plans to upgrade the iPhone 4.

Few more details were added about the MobileMe revamp, which is due this summer.
The new service would give users access to their iTunes libraries from, say, an iPhone or iPad, instead of requiring that the devices be synced by cable with a computer and use space to store the actual files, the people said. The new service likely would be compatible with the iPhone 4, one of the people said.
The newspaper states that users will be able to access their libraries without syncing their computer, where files would be served wirelessly!
There's been a lot of speculation that Apple might move towards cloud based music sync and services. Licensing issues are apparently holding up the debut of the service which was originally planned for last year.
