Not a registered Mac developer but still want to see some of the new features of OS X 10.7 Lion in action? The guys over at
RazorianFly have spied a couple of YouTube videos of the new developer build, running on what appears to be some sort of MacBook Pro.
The two videos show new toys such as Launchpad as well as the new Finder. The iOS rubber-band affect is in full effect too, with lists in Finder acting just like they do in iOS devices, which adds a certain something to boring lists of files!
Also worth noting is how fluid the interface is already. Considering this is the first build to come out of Cupertino, it is impressive just how well
Lion runs on the existing hardware. It certainly bodes well for a nice, slick OS when 10.7 ships.
Hit the videos for the scoop if like us, you just can’t wait until the next of the big cats arrives in stores this Summer.

I know that most of your are waiting eagerly for the
untethered jailbreak solution on
iOS 4.2.1 for new-generation iOS devices. As most of you know, the iPhone Dev Team already has the
backup plan to achieve iOS 4.2.1 untethered jailbreak for Christmas Eve.
Just a few minutes ago, the
iPhone Dev Team has
confirmed the release of untethered iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak for the Christmas Eve and asking for Mac OS X owners to help them with testing the the backup plan.
Over the Christmas weekend we’ll be releasing a version of redsn0w that implements the “backup plan” to the 4.2.1 untethered jailbreak. We’re seeking your help to test this redsn0w and find any bugs before we do a general release!
(If you have an iPhone 3G, or an old-bootrom ipt2g or iPhone 3GS, you already have an untethered jailbreak! Just use the latest public redsn0w.)
To keep things manageable, this will be a Mac-only test program. We also request that any volunteers *NOT* need the ultrasn0w unlock (in case things go very wrong).
Right now, the “backup plan” requires that you have the 4.2b3 IPSW on your Mac, and that Cydia has your 4.2b3 SHSH hashes. Please don’t pirate that 4.2b3 IPSW! (We’re also working on a way that this technique might apply to all those with 4.1 IPSWs, but that’s not the first goal right now.)
To survive in this, you must be a Mac owner, got iOS 4.2 beta 3 SHSH blobs on your Mac or that Cydia has your 4.2b3 SHSH hashes that was automatically saved (in the status bar), and have a new-generation iOS device (i.e. iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad, iPod 4G, 3G).
If you fit all the above qualifications, so you can follow @
redsn0w_testers on Twitter and give the
Dev-Team a comment in
this post to get the backup plan right now ! Let us know how does it go with you. Also stay tuned for a Christmas launch for public.

Apple has been working hard to try to make the Mac App Store possible. Now,
Saurik the creator of Cydia app store for iOS devices has announced that he is going to bring Cydia for the Mac!
According the
TUAW,
Saurik made this astonishing announcement at 360|MavDev giving an overview of his upcoming Cydia for MAC OS X, Cycript, and Cydia Substrate.
Currently, Cydia Installer has been used by about 10% of all iPhone users, or about 10 million devices. There are well over 30,000 packages available for iOS, and a lot of open source material can be downloaded from Cydia. He refers to Cydia as a store for things that are not apps, but extensions of what iOS devices can do.
Freeman felt that the same type of store would be useful for Mac OS X devices; the result is a Mac Cydia, which will be available "within weeks." With today's news that the Mac App Store will not support in-app purchases, something that is critical to the freemium app model that is so successful in the iOS world, a Mac Cydia might be just the web store for a number of Mac developers.
This is a very huge advance for the jailbreak scene. Not only will there be jailbroken iDevices, now it's being expanded for Mac! This will be out within weeks! Any developers interested in trying to get their app into Cydia for Mac is always free to contact Patrick at saurikit.com

In case you are on of our readers, you may know that Apple is reportedly launching
iOS 4.3 next Monday (December 13th). However, an
inside source has just told
Appletell that Apple is targeting a Monday, December 13th launch of the Mac App Store.
An inside source has just told us that Apple is targeting a Monday, December 13th launch of the Mac App Store. The company apparently told developers to have their software prepared for a launch as early as Monday the 6th of this month, but our contact would be shocked if that happened at this point. Apple has made no official announcements regarding this, and delays could always happen, but there's a push to be launched before Christmas, well ahead of the previously estimated January release.
At the
Back to the Mac even on October 20th, Steve Jobs confirmed that the Mac App Store should be launched after
90 days which means late in January 2011 so we can't verify these claims but we do know that Apple has already started asking developers to submit their apps to the Mac App Store and has already seeded a new version of Mac OS X 10.6.6 to Mac App developers. So this may claims that Apple would launch it earlier than what they said. More updates as they come, stay tuned !

Airprint was already hacktivated manually (look at
9to5mac) and it took lots of steps but now the easy one has just been released by
Neputing. Now Hacktivating your Airprint on
Mac OS X 10.6.5 is really easy with this new tool.
AirprintHacktivator can easily activate your Airprint automatically with just a click. You can now Havktivate and De-Hacktivate Airprint with this tool.
I wrote a quick and dirty application called AirPrintHacktivator that will do it for you. The application allow you to “Hacktivate” and “De Hacktivate” AirPrint by adding or removing the 3 files required… all of this while making a backup of the current files so they are properly restored during “De Hacktivation”.
WARNING! USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! It is working fine for me but don’t come crying if it break something on your Mac
You can use this tool only on Mac OS X 10.6.5 and it will not work on previous versions. We see some reports floating on the web indicating that it works on fine for all.
